England just got knocked out of the -make that Euro '08 - qualifiers...
And everyone is blaming the pitch.
Apparently it was lumpy.
I've been sitting here listening to this dude rant about it, thinking: no mate, they didn't lose because the pitch was lumpy, they lost because the.team.was.crap.
And anyway, if what if the pitch was lumpy? The Croatians had the exact same disadvantage, because they were playing on the exact same smegging pitch. seriously, stop being pathetic and admit they were crap already! |

Money spent on various guests and other things during the weekend - £150
Hearing Chris Barrie and Craig Charles discuss their snog on Red Dwarf - Priceless!
I am so very, very tired right now... No sleep all weekend + hyped up on adrenaline (and the odd alcoholic beverage) all weekend + lectures first thing monday morning = pretty much zombie mode for the forseeable future.
Highlights of the weekend:
- Getting a text from Janine telling me Jason Manns was doing a second gig in Manchester the day I was there! So I got to see him after all! And it was awesome! :-)
- Jason Momoa. The boy has now leapfrogged into my top-runners, curtesy of him being freaking hawt with glasses, being very funny and generally just being great and spending time with the fans. *melts*
- Anything and everything Red Dwarf related. Craig and Chris were both hilarious and very approachable. Chris and I spent some time coming up with strategies to get money together for the RD movie. Mostly they involved me winning the lottery :-S
- everything. Just everything.
A proper write-up to follow, complete with pictures and such, but right now I need to go to a lecture (which I fully intend to sleep through).

I am so very, very proud of my little boy!
I had a teacher-parent meeting with his teacher today, and they informed me that because he was so far ahead of the rest of his class, he's going to start spending half of the day in the next year up!
He'll still do all the playing, singing, painting etc. with his old classmates, but will be going to year 1 (he's in Reception right now) to do his work.
*cue very proud Sammy*
And if his behaviour improves and he learns how to play with the other kids a bit better, there's a good chance he'll be skipping a year after the summer.
To be perfectly honest I'm not that surprised. He taught himself to read at 4 years old, and where most kids his age are struggling to write their own names, he's writing whole sentences. paragraphs even! His teacher said she's never seen anything even remotely like it, and they're going to do everything they can to ensure he gets all he needs out of school.
What amuses me is that they were making noises about kicking him out of school because he was being difficult. The noises suddenly stopped as soon as they realised how bright the little monkey is :-)
Anyways, I'll stop showing off now... have clothes to wash :-( |

some of you may have figured by now that when it comes to my boys, I am notoriously fickle. I ping-pong from one to the other and back again, never able to pick a clear favourite.
well, I am proud to say that I have decided - finally - who is my number one favourite pretty!
And the winner is...

Mr. Karl Urban!
Why? many reasons, not the least of which the fact that he can wear a dodgy french pornstar moustache in one of his roles and I'll still respect him in the morning! *grins*
I'm often able to forgive my pretties quite a lot in the way of odd costumes and make-up, but I normally draw the line at french pornstar taches...
The fact that I'm able to forgive Karl this faux pas says something, no?
Not that the moustache wasn't, well, ugly - because it was (hey, I love a bit of face fuzz - or a lot of face fuzz... - as much as the next girl, but that was... wrong), but I didn't run screaming in the opposite direction, so its all good.
Just in case anyone is wondering what I'm babbling on about, I just watched "out of the blue" (val, I loooooooooooooooooooooove you!). The movie itself was, IMO pretty damn good. What got to me even more though, in terms of Karlness, was the extras.
Man how I love to hear that boy talk about his job!
But anyway, it is late and I have uni in the morning. But I thought I'd stop in and offer proof that I CAN make a decision every once in a while, lol.
Not that I love the rest of my boys any less, I just love Karl that little bit more ;-)
